RTV-2 is a Room Temperature Vulcanising rubber that requires a catalyst to cure it into a flexible rubber.

There are 2 types of RTV-2 rubbers:

- Condensation cure which has a tin based catalyst.
- Addition cure which has a platinum based catalyst.

Ashland increases prices on composites resins and gelcoats in North America

DUBLIN, OHIO, August 28, 2018 – Ashland is increasing prices on its portfolio of resins and gelcoats up to $0.05/lb. The increases apply to North America and are effective September 12, 2018 or as agreements allow.

The price increases are due to continued cost escalation in key raw materials, driven by demand and tightness in feedstocks, cost increases for packaging and freight, and supply chain disruption due to tariffs. Ashland remains committed to providing customers with quality products and to delivering services that are reliable and efficient.

Notification of general price increase

Unfortunately we have to announce an across the board price increase effective 01 October 2018.

We will do our best to keep increases as low as possible across the board and negotiate as hard as we can with our various suppliers, but it is largely out of our control and add resins cannot absorb these increases any longer.

I hope you understand our position and we will do everything we can in our customer’s interest, but we need to remain sustainable to enable add resins to continue to provide the best quality products and service at competitive price levels.

Ashland announces price increases for composites products in EMEA

BARCELONA, Spain, August 16, 2018 – Ashland today announced it will increase the price of its portfolio of all composites products in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) by 100 Euros per metric ton. This increase will take effect September 1, 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter as contracts allow.
